Hi there, I’m Áine, I’m an intuitive eating counsellor and wellbeing coach based in the West Midlands. I discovered intuitive eating after many years of yoyo dieting, not trusting my body and trying my best to get my body to a weight and shape that it didn’t want to be.

I went from repeating the same cycle of diets which lead to emotional eating, binge eating episodes, hormonal imbalances, and a constant obsession about my weight, to making peace with food and being completely free from rules and restrictions.

I now truly enjoy food, and exercise because it makes me feel good, not to burn calories. I never choose foods because I ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’, but because I now understand what feels good in my body, and as a result my body settles around it’s natural, set point weight, without me forcing it to be there. Learning and fully accepting that my natural weight was more than my mind wanted it to be, was a big step in my intuitive eating journey.

Even though rediscovering your intuitive eater and letting go of the familiarity of dieting can feel scary at first, I can honestly say it has been the best thing I have ever done to improve my health, and I’m so excited to help you do the same!

As an Intuitive Eating Counsellor, I believe Easter can be a time of joy, connection, and enjoying foods that nourish your body and soul –  guilt free 🙌 and here's how:

✅Tune into your body: Enjoy your favourite chocolates, savouring each bite, checking in and responding to your natural hunger, fullness and satisfaction cues as you nibble away! (This is something I help my clients to do, send me a message if you have any questions about how you can practice connecting, and responding to your innate cues - happy to help🤗)

✅Permission, not restriction: Give yourself permission to enjoy your favourite foods – no forbidden foods here! Restricting often leads to cravings.

✅Focus on connection: Easter celebrates cherished moments with loved ones. Engaging in meaningful conversations, playing games, or going on a hike or bike ride together, are a few great ways to focus on connecting. Food, undoubtedly is a lovely way to bring people together, just remember that it doesn't need to steal the show 😊.

✅Mindful movement: Take a walk after dinner or participate in an Easter egg hunt – movement can be anything (so no worries if you can't get to the gym, or if the gym isn't your thing!) it's all about feeling good, and finding fun ways to move 🤸!

Remember: Treat yourself with kindness and compassion, just like you would a friend 🥰.
